If you’re interested in playing in a tournament, then we suggest you know and understand your skill rating. Ratings are used in tournaments to group players. Pickleball ratings are as follows from lowest to highest: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, and 5.0. Don’t know your rating? Check out this link to read more on the rating system.

Unless you’re playing singles, you’ll need a partner to enter a tournament. When you register for a tournament, you will play at the level of your highest rated partner. For instance, if a 2.5 (lowest) and 5.0 (highest) enter together, the team must play in the 5.0 category. Most tournaments offer men’s, women’s and mixed categories for each skill level. In some tournaments, you can play both mixed and men’s/women’s.
